Miix4 Build 18.5.1 & 18.5.5 – OMG, it’s fast!
HybridTeam’s
back! We’re unable to access this blog for a
while (security issues). But now, we’re kicking up a notch on our Official Blog
once again!
And just in time for Prime’s (or Miix) and
HybridTeam’s birthday, we’re bringing everyone, Miix4 Build 18.5.1 and 18.5.5!
First Things
First – Security Patches
Miix’s silver
lining. Miix 4 18.5.1 includes the May security update, which you can view its
details on Google’s website here. Please note that patches are done software-side so vulnerability scanners
may not detect this fix.
Second – Lag
is Gone!
Ever since Prime 3.x was in development, a few
users have been suggesting to integrate overlays to the apps
themselves as having a separate overlay file causes the lagging to happen. Not
only it introduces lagging, it also wastes battery as overlays are applied
real-time (as you use the app).
With the introduction of MxUI 4.3, most of the apps have their formerly-overlayed layouts now integrated on the APKs themselves. Thereby reducing RAM usage, reducing the lag, almost gone! And with the removal of the overlays, the system space became larger, giving you more infinite possibilities to customize your Miix installation.

We'll keep overlays on the Framework,
Contacts, and Dialer apps, as these does NOT allow modifications, rendering
them unusable (corrupted) when modified. They don't bottleneck the RAM though
as these overlays (are the only ones that) are loaded at-boot (instead of
real-time).
Other apps, including the InCallUI and Voice Recorder, have their overlays already been integrated since 18.4.1.

Since MxUI 4.3.0 shadow-ed the need of the many init scripts that slows down the
device even, Build 18.5.5 then refines the performance in much more detail,
removing a lot of the many init scripts included with Miix’ initial builds.
Third – I
Thought We Were At Perfection?
While MxUI 4.3.0 (Build 18.5.1) brings performance
improvements, MxUI 4.3.1 (Build 18.5.5) brings a ton of design improvements. We’re
introducing a design of the notification panel, now as near as Samsung
Experience. We’re also introducing major changes to the recent apps and volume
panels, now looks nearer to the Galaxy S8/S9. Comparison photos are available on our Telegram and Facebook channels.
The UI also has been thoroughly refined, the lock
screen design has been fixed, and the user experience is much more unified. We
are now miles away from the pasts of
Graceified Hybrid in the user experience department, and that’s really awesome
to see.
Fourth – An
Awesome, Overdue, Sensor Fix
A similar issue to that of Prime 3.2 for the
fortuna3g (SM-G530H/DV), fortunalte (SM-G530F), and the fortunave3g
(SM-G530H/DS XXU/XXS); we have forgotten to merge the sensor fixes to the main
ROM, leading to the auto-rotation not working. Build 18.5.1 fixes the issue. Sorry.
xD
Lastly –
Meet Mx+
We know, we’ve screwed up with the Prime Store
back with Prime 3.2. But this time, we’ve learned where we went wrong and fixed
it to the best degree ever possible.
With our move to Github’s most resilient servers,
our add-ons, now named Mx+ Modules, have also been moved to the over-the-air
(OTA) updates’ new home. Plus, the store has now been moved to the Software
Updates app. It’s now your one-stop shop
for improving your Miixperience to the way
(if you do know it) you want it.
